Some things are so basic you shouldn't need a reminder: lock the door, feed the dog, include women in the republic. And yet — there's Abigail Adams in 1776, putting it in writing because apparently it wasn't obvious. "Remember the ladies" has the exact energy of "did you really need me to tell you that?"
